Welcome back DHS Wolves and Wolves’ Families,
I am very excited and looking forward to another great year. Last year we had many outstanding accomplishments as presented in the newsletters throughout the year. Our students will continue to excel at Deltona High. I am looking forward to the 2017-2018 school year working with the best students and families in the county to achieve academic success. I am asking that the parents and students assist me in making Deltona High the best school in Volusia County.
We are pleased to announce that Deltona High has been selected to be a Cambridge International School. This is a highly prestigious program which offers a rigorous academic program for advanced studies. For more details, please see our DHS Wolves website.
Please welcome our newest assistant principal that has joined the Wolves’ Family. Mrs. Bobbie Jo Grieve will be the supervisor of the conduct management office and will oversee the facilities on campus. The rest of our administrative team will remain the same. Ms. Robinson oversees the Exceptional Student Education Department and transportation; Dr. Lapnow will continue to oversee Curriculum and Testing; Mr. Michael Micallef will oversee the DATA and scheduling office and Mr. Ky Cowan, Teacher on Assignment, will continue as Dean of the Conduct Management Office.
Once again, we have been recognized and received both the Gold and Silver Award designations in volunteerism and community involvement. We are very proud of the students, faculty, staff, and parents that worked together to make this possible.
We do know that growth is needed in all academic and accountability areas. We believe that if we work together and push each one of us to the next level that anything is possible. We will improve our FSA scores, end of the course exams, and all other assessments given throughout the year as we teach rigorous standards in each of our courses.
As we begin the school year, each student will be receiving a folder with very important information. Please review the student planner and review the policies, procedures and Wolf expectations for all students. Students will be required to follow the dress code and UNIFORM POLICY. Please note the detailed information in all newsletters and on our website so that you can keep up to date on the latest information at Deltona High. In addition, please continue using the VIMS system this year. This gives you up to date information on the progress of your son/daughter. Any questions, please contact the school counselor.
Please become an active member in our SAC (School Advisory Council). We need your input to help achieve excellence! SAC meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month @ 6:00 in the media center.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to contact me.
Together we can make sure that students reach their highest potential
